Venao Beach

If you’re into surfing, then you have to give Venao Beach a try. Located in the Azuero Peninsula, south-west of Panama, Azuero is a land filled with beautiful traditions and folklore. Believe it or not, a lot of locals and Indians call this the heartland, since it was once a meeting point for several different cultures.

Once you enter the beach and take a good look at it, you won’t believe how beautiful the ocean and sand are, the incredible waves are just waiting for surfers to give her a try. Trust me, waves here are massive in most seasons of the year. The first time I tried Venao Beach was during raining season and to my surprise, the weather was nothing like I expected, beautiful. What I’m trying to say here, less Panamanians visit the beach during the raining season, due to all the rubbish it brings from the nearby rivers. Nevertheless, Venao Beach has turned into a great alternative for any beach bum or surfer who can’t get enough of Panama’s beaches.

Finding a hotel or somewhere to stay won’t be much a problem. The locals are used to surfers and random tourists dropping by from all parts of the world. The prices for most of the hotels range from $30 to $90, depending on your immediate needs. I usually go for the economical alternative and just spend most of my time at the beach, enjoying the good weather, beautiful waves and great times. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity.
